Rocketboom is one of the longest-running web video series. As the show branched into a network with additional content under its belt, the old logo started to seem outdated.

I first explored how best to update and clarify the shapes used in the old mark, while retaining the fun of the rocket and the strength of the Impact typeface.

The daily newscast show would be branched off into a new property called “Rocketboom Daily,” with a personality close to the Rocketboom network. I simultaneously explored ideas for the show.

A few differently stylized options were explored before settling on a mark that more closely resembled the original.

The new identity has been used across all of the Rocketboom network and its different products, including videos, branded YouTube channels, Twitter pages, and its iPhone app.
